Victim Services presents to Breezy Point Area Women’s Club

The women of Breezy Point Area Women’s Club met at Timberjack’s in Pequot Lakes, on Wednesday, April 5. Kathy Fleisher, Executive Director and Heather Anthony, Advocate, of Victim Services, Crow Wing County were the guest speakers.

Victim Services provide support, safety, financial assistance and advocacy necessary for recovery from a criminal act to victims of crime in Crow Wing County.

In the last five years, Victim Services reports an eye-opening increase of 429% in services provided to crime victims. In 2016, this organization provided 3,376 services to 450 victims. Information presented included: stages of abuse isolation, threats, physical abuse, loss of friends and support. Oftentimes LESS time is spent on its victims than the offender. Anyone can become a victim.
