Rangers Top Eagles

The Crosby-Ironton Rangers got a game high 22 points from Jana Anderson to defeat the visiting Northland Lady Eagles on Tuesday night 55-45.

The Eagles held the Rangers outside threat Katie Swanhorst to 1 of 9 shooting from three-point range, but managed to shoot only 26 percent from the field while committing 20 turnovers, compared to 13 for C-I.

Kayla Heisler and Camille Manders each reached double figures for Northland with 16 and 12 points respectively. Manders grabbed a team high 11 boards and Heisler had eight.

The win stopped a three game losing streak for C-I. Swanhorst finished with nine points, while September Prushek and Missy Foote each had seven points. Foote led the Rangers with 10 rebounds.

Northland coach Jenny Kovall said, “We need to do a better job of taking care of the ball - we had to many unforced turnovers. Against quality teams like Crosby, they turn those into points. Overall our effort was good - Crosby is a good team and well coached.”

NL: Howard 3, Likens 7, Manders 12, Heisler 16, Dunham 4, Rajdl 3.

C-I: Valentino 3, Swanhorst 9, Anderson 22, Prushek 7, Cragun 1, Miller 6, Foote 7.
