Crosslake City Council to discuss hiring consultant to review Crosslake Communications

Web posted May 27, 2014
The Crosslake City Council is meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, to discuss Crosslake Communications Company and potentially hiring a consultant to look at the company. The meeting will be a continuation of the council’s May 12 meeting, which was adjourned temporarily until May 27.

By phone, council member John Moengen said the council will discuss whether or not it’s interested in hiring a consultant for Crosslake Communications Company. Moengen, who was charged with finding a potential consultant, said Charlesmead Advisors, a company from the east coast that specializes in work with telecommunications companies, could be a candidate.

“Wise people seek wise counsel,” Moengen said. He said hiring a professional ensures the city that the company is healthy. If the council chooses, the consultant could look into things like revenue or technology, Moengen said. He also said that looking into hiring a consultant is a continuation of the council’s actions to look into every part of the city and make sure it’s healthy.

He said the meeting will most likely be brief, as that’s currently the only item on the agenda for May 27.
