The weather was outstanding for the third week of September and fishing results varied as anglers tested their skills in bringing in the 3-4-5 mixed bag of Northern Pike, Walleyes and Largemouth Bass to the scales. Angler success varied as much as the presentations used and the locations where the fish were caught. Artificial baits and Redtail Chubs seemed to round out most of the success stories. Brad Wallace lead singer for Skatyrs and part of the Pederson Team kicked-off the event by singing our national anthem. Acknowledgements: Thank you to Whitefish Lodge and Suites and Manhattan Beach Lodge for hosting the event; Dan Swanson from the MN DNR for his educational presentation and discussion on invasive species; Crosslake / Ideal Lions Club and the many volunteers that assisted in the operation of the event.; Waterfront Services for their support in live fish redistribution as required by the DNR. Special thanks to Mike Hall from Precision Propeller Works of Brainerd Industrial Park for providing our anglers with the chance to win a brand new Stainless Steel Propeller valued up to $500 and discounts on service and merchandise.
