Historic Log Village in Crosslake to Host Grand Opening

There will be a grand opening and dedication of the new Livery at the Crosslake Historic Log Village on Sunday, May 18 at 2:00 pm.

The Historic Whitefish Chain Mailboat exhibit will be opened to the public with commentary by Ronnie Schultz and Joey Ruttger, owners and Kathy Swanson, niece of mail carrier Ben Knebel.

An enjoyable interpretive performance will be presented by the By-The-Way Players titled “Donna Mae” about Ben Knebel, who delivered the mail throughout the Whitefish Chain from 1939 to 1969.

Visiting dignitaries will be introduced. Following the program there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by refreshments. The public is cordially invited to this free event.
