The 17th annual Ice Tee Open, a fundraiser for Camp Knutson, will be held Saturday, March 2 at Moonlite Bay in Crosslake.
The event is a fun-filled full-day event on the ice beginning at 11 am. It includes an 18 hole golf course, a costume and hole in one contests, raffle prizes and giveaways, and a silent auction that ends at 4 pm.
The event is open to teams and individuals. The tennis ball is provided and entrants are required to bring one golf club.
According to Caitlin Malin, Program Director at Camp Knutson, the event was originally created by Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant as a way to attract visitors to the area during late winter and they wanted to give the proceeds to a local organization, and they graciously chose Camp K.
Over the last six years, the event has raised $185,000 dollars for Camp Knutson camperships. All of the money raised from the ITO goes directly to help offset the financial means for campers with special needs and/or medical needs and their families, that provides more campers the ability to attend camp.
To participate, it is $20 for adults, $10 for kids under 14, and with admission you will be automatically entered into the raffle. Malin included that as a jumpstart to fundraising, there is the $500 club, that includes members who donate $500.
Malin said, “It is an absolutely fun day and we are very grateful for the hard work and energy Moonlite Bay puts into making this event such a success for our campers. We also appreciate all of the support from the local Businesses, community members, event participants, $500 club members and everyone involved in the Ice Tee Open throughout the years.”
