Crosslake-Ideal Lions donate to Crosslake VFD

The Crosslake Fire Department recently received a $7,500 donation from the Crosslake Ideal Lions Club to help with the purchase of a new Polaris Side By Side with Duratrax.
Crosslake fire chief Chip Lohmiller said, “The Crosslake Fire Relief Association has been fundraising for this piece of equipment for the last few years and with this generous donation the department was able to move forward with the purchase.”
The Crosslake council approved the donation and purchase at their meeting on Dec. 9. The Crosslake Fire Relief Association will pay for the balance of the vehicle, $17,000.
This piece of equipment will be used for Search and Rescue when encountering a lost hunter or a snowmobile accident on one of our remote trails, help with fire suppression activities during wild land fires, and assist with many other fire department operations.
“The side by side with tracks can go through adverse terrain conditions in any type of weather,” added Lohmiller. “This new equipment will benefit other fire Departments in our area as well when there is a need for additional resources.”
The Crosslake Fire Department would like to thank the Crosslake-Ideal Lions Club for this generous donation and the continued support over for the past several years.
