On Saturday, July 12, Boss Grand and the Johnny Cash Revue will take the stage for the Crosslake Outdoor Music Series in Town Square. He’ll return on Aug. 9 for another show.
One of many bands to play the series, the Johnny Cash Revue will take the stage at 7 p.m. to play-- you guessed it-- songs by the “Man in Black.”
Boss Grant portrays the looks and sounds of the man in black from Johnny Cash’s early days with the Tennessee Three, performing just about all of Johnny Cash’s hits.
“My goal is to take people back in time,” Grant said of performing Johnny Cash hits. "We try to do the original sound they had back in the early days. I like to see people’s faces light up. We try to make it sound as authentic as possible and I think people appreciate that.”
Grant said his band has played at the Crosslake Outdoor Music Series before, and always looks forward to it.
“It’s one of our favorite places to perform and we’re looking forward to coming up there on the 12th and Aug. 9,” he said.
The Crosslake Outdoor Music Series continues every Saturday through August. All shows are held at the gazebo in Town Square at 7 p.m. The lineup includes: Boss Grant: Johnny Cash Revue on July 12, Dred I Dread on July 19, Decade 7 on July 26, Patty and the Buttons on Aug. 2, Boss Grant: Johnny Cash Revue on Aug. 9, Jacob Martin Band on Aug. 16, Daybreak on Aug. 23 and Decade 7 on Aug. 30.
