Grandpa’s Run for the Walleye Goes Virtual!

Web posted June 9, 2020
Grandpa’s Run for the Walleye, along standing July 4th tradition in Crosslake, will become a virtual 5K run/walk for 2020. This event is sponsored by the Whitefish Area Property Owners Association (WAPOA). Proceeds from event are normally used for fish habitat protection and improvement of in the Whitefish Chain, however, for this year all proceeds will be donated to our local Food Shelves.

Entrants will be encouraged to run/walk anytime and anywhere in the world between July 4 and July 12. If you are in the Brainerd Lakes Area during this time, you are encouraged to use the regular 5K course that starts and ends at the Crosslake Community Center. A map of the course is available on the registration website and the course will be marked.

Registration is on-line at https://runsignup.com/Race?MN/Crosslake/RunfortheWalleye. A link to registration is also posted on the www.org website. Registration closes at 11:59pm. On July 4th. The fee is $25 per entrant and includes a performance T-shirt.

Because many entrants run/walk as a family group, all children who enter will also receive a T-shirt. T-shirts will be available for pickup at the Crosslake Community Center Pavilion on the morning of July 11th, or will be mailed for an additional fee.

Once entrants complete their run/walk, they can enter their time on the registration website and results will be posted to the Walley Run leader board.

Come join us for fun and exercise for a worthy cause.
