Crosslake Community School Field Trip
Web posted May 27, 2014
On Tuesday, April 22, Crosslake Community School students took a field trip to the home of Doug and Mandy Mitchell to learn about how maple syrup is made. The students walked the property and saw how sap is collected from trees. The Mitchells demonstrated how the sap is boiled down to make syrup. Students tasted the sap straight from the tree and compared it to a taste of a small spoonful of maple syrup in order to see the difference. CCS is very grateful to the Mitchells for sharing this experience with the students!
