Accidental Shooting in Crosslake

On Friday, September 1, 2023, at 10:41 am, the Crosslake Police Department responded to the 37000 block of Aspen Way after receiving a 911 call reporting a 23-year-old female was shot in the shoulder. The caller stated the victim was leaving the scene, enroute to the hospital via a private vehicle.

Officers intercepted the vehicle and provided first aid until an ambulance arrived. North Ambulance transported the victim to the Crosslake Fire Department parking lot, where she was transported via Air Care to a Trauma Center in the Twin Cities.

Officers conducted interviews with all parties involved. Initial investigation shows the shooting was accidental and there is no threat to the public. Currently, there are no subjects in custody and this incident remains an active investigation.

The Crosslake Police Department was assisted by the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, Breezy Point Police Department, Pequot Lakes Police Department, Crosslake Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance.
