Crosslake Short Term Rental/VRBO Committee seeks input
Web posted July 23, 2019
Recently the City of Crosslake established a citizen-based committee to meet and discuss short term rentals in the city.
”Short term” rentals, (also known as VRBO properties) are residential properties that are available for rent for a period of less than 30 days. These properties are typically lake cabins or residential homes that are rented via via any number of ways, mostly through online services. To date there have been no significant problems with these rentals but since there are more and more of them, the city and committee want to look into ways to ensure they remain a positive experience for neighbors, businesses and others in the community.
Mayor David Nevin is a committee member and it is his goal to ensure the rental properties are of mutual benefit to the residents and City of Crosslake. The committee is examining what other cities and communities are doing in this regard and is seeking input and feedback from the Crosslake community. Crosslake citizens are encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas regarding short term rentals by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. This will give everyone an opportunity to voice their opinions and ideas and the committee will take the comments into consideration.
