Join the Party: 39th annual Crosslake St. Patrick’s Day Parade is March 16!

Web posted March 12, 2013
Get your green on during the 39th annual Crosslake St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration, hosted by the Brainerd Lakes Chamber, on Saturday, March 16, in Crosslake. The parade begins at 2 p.m. in Crosslake’s Town Square and winds its way to County Road 3 before heading north on  Route 66. Longstanding Crosslake business community supporters Roger and Nancy Schweiters of Boyd Lodge will be honored as this year’s grand marshals.

Billed as the state’s biggest and best St. Patrick’s Day parade outside of St. Paul, an estimated crowd of nearly 20,000 were in attendance at 2012’s parade, lining the route through the heart of Crosslake to watch local businesses and organizations show off creative floats. This year’s legendary Crosslake parade also will include first-time appearances by renowned musical features, including the Chmielewski Funtime Band, the Dirty Shorts Brass Band and the Biscuit Boy Band as well as returning features, such as the Minnesota Vikings Skol Drum Line and the Pequot Lakes High School marching band.

To truly get in the Irish spirit, begin your search for Crosslake’s own Pot o’ Gold starting on Thursday, March 14. Clues for the treasure hunt will be posted at 9 a.m. daily at participating Crosslake area merchants and at all Brainerd Lakes Chamber offices, as well as online at Crosslake.com and on the Crosslake St. Patrick’s Day Parade Facebook event page. The lucky leprechaun who finds the treasure will win $100 in Chamber Bucks — a gift certificate for participating Brainerd Lakes Area businesses.

Raffle tickets are still available throughout the community, including at the Chamber office in Crosslake. Receive a free 2013 Crosslake St. Patrick’s Day blinkie button with each $5 raffle ticket purchased and you’ll find your Irish eyes smiling. Wear the blinkie button to cash in on great discounts and deals throughout Crosslake. Raffle prize winners will be announced March 17 during the St. Patrick’s Day Raffle Party at Manhattan’s hosted by Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Crosslake Clinic and Manhattan’s at Manhattan Beach Lodge.
