Thousands of people gathered in Crosslake last weekend for the 11th annual WinterFest Celebration. The event featured fireworks, annual SoupFest competition, and indoor and outdoor fun for all ages.
The event kicked off Friday night with Crosslake Community School’s Cabin Fever event, featuring games and family fun. Friday evening also included iceskating, horse drawn sleigh rides, a 20-foot high snow mountain for kids, and a spectacular fireworks show.
The annual Crosslake Firefighter’s pancake breakfast Saturday morning at Crosslake Lutheran Church was well attended and people were lined up at businesses and restaurants well before the noon start of the annual SoupFest on Saturday.
17 area businesses and restaurants competed in two divisions, Culinary and Amateur, for the coveted Winterfest Golden Ladle, a traveling trophy for the annual Soupfest event.
Crosslake Area Chamber Director Cindy Myogeto stated, “The WinterFest committee plans for months in advance to ensure there are fun activities for all ages and the Chamber would like to thank all the businesses who participated to make the 11th Annual WinterFest a great success.”
