Homeless and Wounded Warriors-MN, a Crosslake, MN based charity, hosted their 14th Anniversary Motorcycle Ride for Homeless and Wounded Warriors on August 25, 2017.
122 motorcycles and 170 riders gathered at the Log Cabin Bar in Emily to participate in the 140- mile ride through Palisade, Aitkin, Isle and Garrison before concluding at the Fifty Lakes/Crosslake American Legion Post 500 for a delicious rib dinner with trimmings. A large silent auction was held and all items sold. Comments from everyone who attended the event were very positive.
Event organizer and veteran Steve Eisenreich said, “Our gratitude goes out to the Crosslake Legion for their overall preparation and donation of $8400 combined from the Post, the Auxiliary, and charitable gambling proceeds. Thanks also go to Reeds Market for providing the food, top new donors REMAX and Lakeplace.com, and many others who will be highlighted in a separate thank you ad.”
Proceeds from the day of the ride totalled $18,000. Those dollars plus another $42,000 in revenues through August 31, 2018, and further revenues through the end of the year are already being utilized to relieve homelessness among local area veterans, and to assist those military members who have been impacted by grievous war injuries.
Homeless and Wounded Warriors-MN exists, solely, through the donations of our many generous sponsors. For more information on Homeless and Wounded Warriors-MN, visit their website: www.homelessandwoundedwarriorsmn.org.
