| Vehicle Accident Results in FatalityWeb posted May 17, 2022 Crow Wing County Sheriff Scott Goddard reports on May 7th, 2022 at approximately 4:42 pm, Crow Wing County Deputies responded to the intersection of Thorson Road and Mill Road for a single-vehicle accident involving a car hitting a tree. Deputies were further notified that the vehicle was on fire. The Brainerd Fire Department was also dispatched to the scene along with North Ambulance. First responders arrived on the scene and located a 2008 Saturn Vue that had left the roadway and struck a tree head-on. The vehicle was only occupied by the driver. The driver was determined to be deceased at the scene and was identified as 18-year-old Alexis Laughton of Brainerd. The crash is currently under investigation by the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Brainerd Fire, North Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
