DFL and Republican Caucuses tonight, Feb. 6th, in Crow Wing and Cass Counties

Cass County DFL

The following caucuses begin at 7 pm on Feb. 6th at the following locations:

• Backus City Hall (meeting room), 104 King St S, Backus: Precincts include: Backus, Blind Lake TWP, Bull Moose TWP, Deerfield TWP, Ponto Lake TWP, Powers TWP.

• Loon Lake Town Hall (meeting room), 1346-56th St SW, Pequot Lakes, MN: Precinct include: Home Brook TWP, Loon Lake TWP, Maple TWP, Walden TWP

• Pine River-Backus Schools (high school media room), 401 Murray Ave, Pine River, MN: Precincts include: Ansel TWP, Barclay TWP, Becker TWP, Bungo TWP, Byron TWP, Chickamaw Beach, McKinley TWP, Meadowbrook TWP, Moose Lake TWP, Pine River, Pine River TWP, Poplar, Wilson TWP

The following caucuses begin at 7 pm on Feb. 6th at the following locations:

• Pine River High School, Commons 810 1st St N, Pine River: Precincts include: Ansel Twp, City of Backus, Barclay Twp, Birch Lake Twp, BlindTwp, Bull Moose Twp, Bungo Twp, Chickamaw Beach, Deerfield Twp, City of Hackensack, Hiram Twp,Loon Lake Twp, Maple Twp, McKinley Twp, Moose Lake Twp, City of Pine River, Pine River Twp, Ponto Lake Twp, Poplar Twp, Powers Twp, Walden Twp, Wilson Twp.

• Northland High School, Cafeteria, 316 Main St E, Remer: Precincts include: Beulah Twp, Boy Lake Twp, City of Boy River, Boy River Twp, Crooked Lake Twp, Federal Dam, Gould Twp, Lima Twp, City of Remer, Remer Twp, Rogers Twp, Salem Twp, Slater Twp, Smokey Hollow Twp, Thunder Lake Twp, Torrey Twp, Trelipe Twp, Wahnena.

Crow Wing County DFL

• The Crow Wing County DFL caucuses will be held in the Brainerd High School Cafeteria, Tuesday, February 6. Registration will begin at 6:30 pm and the caucuses will convene at 7pm. Preference balloting will conclude at 8:00 pm.

At the precinct caucuses, DFLers will cast a nonbinding Gubernatorial Preference Ballot that will demonstrate their preferences in the upcoming election. Attendees will have the opportunity to run and vote for delegates supporting specific candidates or issues to represent the precinct at the upcoming county and district conventions on March 24th and April 21st. There will also be an opportunity to introduce and debate resolutions for possible inclusion in the Minnesota DFL Party’s platform, and elect precinct chairs for the next two years.

Ballots may only be cast in person; no absentee balloting is allowed. Letter Nomination forms are available if you would like to be a delegate to the county and district conventions but cannot attend caucuses. Anyone who will be eligible to vote in Minnesota by November 6, 2018 may vote in the preference ballots. Anyone age 16 or over may participate in caucus business.

Crow Wing County Republican

The Crow Wing County Republican Party will be holding caucuses on Tuesday, Feb. 6 beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m. at the following locations:

• Crosslake Community Center, 14126 Dagget Pine Road, Crosslake: Precincts include: Crosslake City; Fifty Lakes City; Gail Lake Township; Jenkins City; Jenkins Township; Little Pine Township; Manhattan Beach City; Ross Lake Township and Timothy Township.

• Nisswa Elementary School, 5533 Lakers Lane, Nisswa: Precincts include: Breezy Point City; Center Township; Ideal Township; Lake Edward Township; Mission Township; Nisswa City; Pelican Township and Pequot Lakes City.
