| ![]() The first place winning photo - Staghorn Sumac with Robin by Jennifer Quam | Crow Wing SWCD’s 11th Annual Photo Contest Winners AnnouncedWeb posted November 14, 2023 Crow Wing Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) invited photographers of all ages and abilities to submit their photos for the 2023 Native Tree Photo Contest Due in October. With great honor, Crow Wing SWCD is proud to present the first-place winner, Staghorn Sumac with Robin by Jennifer Quam, will receive a 20”x16” canvas of their photo, the second-place winner, Eastern White Pine with Porcupine by LeAnn Plinske, will receive an 12”x12” canvas with their photo on it, and the third-place winner, Willow Tree with Butterfly/Moth by Jennifer Quam, will receive a 8”x10” canvas with their photo on it. We are currently featuring 2022 photo contest winners in our 2023 Crow Wing County Plat Books, and plan to give a canvas away at the county fair or other event. All the entries will be featured on our Facebook page, SWCD website and potentially other educational or promotional items for the Crow Wing SWCD. Thank you to all the photographers who submitted the photos. It was a tough decision with a lot of great pollinator shots. The images demonstrate the incredible beauty of native plants in the Brainerd Lakes Area.
