Web posted December 17, 2013
The 20th annual Radiothon to End Child Abuse held on December 5th and 6th raised $58,520 to help prevent child abuse, according to figures released by Crow Wing County.
Pledges totaled $38,698 and the online auction raised $19,822. All pledge monies raised will be shared between the local Child Protection Teams (60%) and Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota (40%), while 100% of all money raised from the auction will stay in Crow Wing County.
The Radiothon would not exist without the ongoing commitment of BL Broadcasting and financial support from families, individuals and businesses in Crow Wing County, according to Kris Ott, Child Protection Specialist with Crow Wing County community Services and a member of the Child Protection Team. “The Community outpouring is an annual inspiration and testament to the truth that it takes all of us to support and strengthen families.”
The Radiothon is a joint effort of B.L. Broadcasting, Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota and local Child Protection Teams.
