Suspect captured on security camera - photo submitted by Crow Wing County Sheriff’s office

Sheriff requests public’s assistance in burglary case

Web posted August 26, 2014
Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl is asking the public for their help in locating a vehicle involved in an early morning burglary of a storage garage in Ross Lake Twsp located southeast of Emily.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 1:30 am on Monday from a citizen who had noticed a mid-1990’s, dark green Chevy or GMC pickup parked in the driveway of a storage garage. As the citizen pulled into the driveway, the suspect vehicle backed up and crashed through a gate causing damage to the rear passenger side of the tailgate of the suspect vehicle.

A security camera on site captured a photo of a suspect on the property earlier in the day who attempted to break through the door of the garage. The male is described as a heavier set man who was wearing khaki pants, a blue wind breaker jacket and a tan floppy hat.

Anyone with information on possible suspects or suspect vehicles is asked to contact the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office at 829-4749 and ask for the investigations division. Callers can remain anonymous.
