Operation Round Up Donations Distributed

Since Operation Round-Up’s inception in late 1996, nearly $3.3 million has been donated to community projects and programs in Cass, Crow Wing and Morrison counties. Operation Round Up is funded by participating members of Crow Wing Power who allow the cooperative to round up their electric bills to the nearest whole dollar. The additional change is pooled and distributed quarterly.
During their quarterly meeting held in October, the Crow Wing Power Community Trust Board donated $47,000 to local community programs. Operation Round-Up funds were distributed to the following projects:
$5,000 to American Red Cross; $8,000 to The Salvation Army, HeatShare, Brainerd; $3,000 to True North Ranch Ministries, Merrifield; $1,500 to Scandia Valley First Response Team, Cushing; $1,500 to Lutheran Social Service Senior Nutrition, Pine River; $3,000 to Lakes Area Pregnancy Support Center, Brainerd; $4,000 to Mn. Assistance Council for Veterans, Crow Wing, Cass and Morrison counties; $3,000 to Faith in Action for Cass County, Hackensack; $1,500 to Heartland Symphony Orchestra, Little Falls; $3,000 to United Way, Brainerd; $500 to Brainerd Quilters; $3,000 to Mounted Eagles, Nisswa; $3,000 to Sexual Assault Service, Brainerd; $3,000 to Morrison County United Way, Little Falls; $1,000 to Brainerd Rotary Foundation (student program); $1,000 to Central Lakes Rotary Club (student program), Pequot Lakes; and $2,000 to Aadzuhman Shrine Club, Brainerd.
The next quarterly meeting is scheduled for January 25, 2018. Grant forms can be obtained by calling Crow Wing Power at 829-2827 or 1-800-648-9401 or at www.cwpower.com. The deadline for grant applications is January 10, 2018.
