Screen Porch Production’s new performance June 21 & 22: “A Sense of Place”

Web posted June 4, 2019
Screen Porch Productions brings the community a new performance event in June!

A Sense of Place: The Performance will take place at the Crooked Lake Town Hall in Outing on Friday &  Saturday, June 21 & 22 at 6:30pm.

This one-of-kind theater performance uses a multi-disciplinary approach to tell the bigger story of who we are  as a community, both past and present. Starting with themes and words from the 21 life-stories published in  the first issue of the Porch Light written by community members of the Emily/Outing area, Therese Kunz has created a performance piece that has been described as a 'visual interactive experience’. Interweaving recorded voices of the writers, historic and personal photos, video & sounds of the area as well as original music & songs by our composer, Patsy O’Brien, Kunz has fashioned a story that is as personal as it is universal, as historical as it is immediate. The ‘live actor’ component played by four adults and three children brings an added visual dimension making this a theater experience unlike anything else! A must see!

The tickets are $10 each and will go sale starting June 1 at The Landing in Emily. Screen Porch Productions is a nonprofit community arts organization and the proceeds will go towards the printing of the second issue of the Porch Light to come out fall of 2019. (Yes, YOUR story can be told here!) There is limited seating so it’s best to buy your tickets in advance as there will only be a few available at the door. There will be refreshments and social time too--doors open at 6:30pm.
