Web posted August 12, 2014
The Cuyuna Iron Range Riders ATV club celebrates there 10 year club anniversary and receives an $8,000 grant from Yamaha for the Miller Black Bear trail area. Ken Irish club president applied in March, to Yamaha Motor Corporation USA, to receive a grant for the trail area. I followed the grant requirements closely and provide all the documentation, maps and information request by Yamaha. What better way to celebrate our club’s anniversary and the trail area.
We are very excited to have received the grant. The money has help us purchase building materials to build our trail kiosks, purchase trail posts, and hire a local contractor for grading and gravel work. The trail work has already begun and will continue through the summer and continue until the project is completed.
With the grant money the club was able to get a good start on the trail project. The first Kiosk is up the section 6 mine pit lake, several trail post with signs are up and we have hired a local contractor to grade and put gravel down. All of the grant money is being used for the trail area and all building materials have been purchased locally.
The club will be adding picnic tables, grills and a portable restroom in the future. Our club is very appreciative of Yamaha’s commitment to provide funding for motorized trails.
