Emily Area Blood Drive Results

January is the official National Blood Donor Month. On Monday, January 13, at the Emily Area Blood Drive, there was steady flow of donors, who donated blood to help save lives of people that they may never meet.
A total of 105 pints were collected at the new Emily City Hall blood drive site.
Due to the harsh cold winter months and flu season, several Minnesota blood drives have been cancelled, setting the state back by 70,000 units of blood.
All donors and first time donors were greatly appreciated for taking their time to help the drive to be the success that it was. One-gallon pins were received by Amy Donovan, Wanda Grecula and Mike Mitshulis. Bill Bernhjelm, Carol Carlton, Deb Dahlke, Francis Schroeder and Wallace Schroeder earned their two gallon pins, while a three gallon pin was awarded to Pat Gifford and Jane McKinley, and four gallon pins went to Richard Schiller. Diana Olson and Fred Tauzell were presented their 7 gallon pins for their donation of 48 pints of blood.
Gift Certificates donated by Robin Fish, Massage Therapist were won by Mark Bradley, Judy DeZurik, Dean Horbach, Diana Olson, Stacy Rabe and Jeannine Widing.
The Emily area bloodmobiles are sponsored by the Lakers Lions of Emily, Outing and Fifty Lakes. The next bloodmobile will be returning to Emily on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, from noon to 6:00 p.m. at the new Emily City Hall.
