Tremolo Communications Announce Expansion of Fiber Internet Footprint

Web posted August 30, 2022
Emily Cooperative Telephone Company (ECTC) now operating as Tremolo Communications is excited to announce that they are expanding its fiber internet footprint to the remaining areas of Ideal and Jenkins townships and a portion of the city of Jenkins in 2023.

Josh Netland, CEO/General Manager stated, “One of the cooperative’s strategic objectives is growth. This expansion project allows for that growth, and the residents in this area need high-speed internet services.” Netland added, “The initial phase of construction is underway and includes the most northern portion of Ideal and Jenkins townships bringing fiber services to approximately 600 underserved locations. Phase 2 will include fiber coverage for the remainder of Ideal and Jenkins Townships and the northern and eastern portion of the City of Jenkins,” adding, "The entire fiber project will span over two years, possibly into year 3. Phase 2 construction will kick off in spring of 2023.”

The effort to get broadband in these areas is the result of a Joint Powers Agreement between the three municipalities and involvement and approval with Crow Wing County and their Board of Commissioners.
