Emily mail carrier injured in Hwy. 6 collision

Shara Martineau, age 48 of Emily, MN, was seriously injured when the vehicle she was operating was hit by an oncoming truck Saturday, January 4.
Martineau was travelling on State Highway 6 near Blue Lake Road in Emily when a truck driven by Jacob Heldt crossed the center line and collided with the vehicle Martineau was using to deliver the mail.
Heldt, of Hammond, Wisconsin, was driving a large pickup while hauling a trailer. He was uninjured.
Martineau was taken to Cuyuna Range Medical Center before being airlifted to North Memorial Hospital.
Also on scene was the Emily Fire Dept., and the Emily First Responders.
An incident report was requested from the Minnesota State Highway Patrol but had not been received at press time.
