Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl reports the arrest of 33-year-old Charles Weber from Emily, MN in connection with several area burglaries and thefts.
On February 12, the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary to a business located on Sawmill Road in Emily. While investigating this burglary, the responding deputy located another burglary on this road. Information was obtained about a possible suspect, Charles Weber.
While following up on these leads, Weber was located on a stolen snowmobile and fled from law enforcement. An intense search was then conducted by numerous law enforcement agencies utilizing snowmobiles to track Weber. After several hours of searching and tracking the suspect through knee deep snow, officers were able to locate and arrest Weber just north of Emily.
As a result of this investigation, it was discovered that Weber had burglarized two businesses and one garage, along with stealing a snowmobile from a business in Outing, MN. Property from these burglaries was recovered by the investigating officers.
Weber was previously charged in Crow Wing County with numerous burglaries and thefts in the Emily area in October of 2013 and was released on conditions. At the time of his arrest, he told investigators that he had court that day for these previous charges.
Assisting in this investigation was the MN DNR, and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
