10th Annual KAXE Mississippi River Festival July 18-19

Web posted July 15, 2014
The annual 91.7 KAXE Music Festival is bringing several Minnesota musicians to the rotary tent stage in Grand Rapids on July 18-19.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event, held at the Rotary tent next to the Mississippi River. A stylistically diverse lineup is the rule, and never the exception at this event, is promised.

Friday, July 18th features Grammy award winner Bill Miller at 6:30 pm. He is followed by Texas-based storytelling/songwriter Slaid Cleaves at 8:30 pm. The Friday evening show opens at 6 pm with the young band US.

Saturday, July 19th features music all day starting at 1 pm with local singer-songwriter Faith Boblett, who grew up in Outing, and her band. The Roe Family Singers from Kirkwood Hollow, MN play at 2:30 pm while the 4:30 pm slot belongs to rising Minnesota blues singer Sena Ehrhardt. Grand Rapids native and roots-rocker Actual Wolf (a/k/a Eric Pollard) plays at 6:30, and the event closes with the 8- piece Blues/Soul/R&B band, The Jimmys at 8:30pm.

The KAXE rotary Tent pavilion is located at 260 NE 2nd Street in Grand Rapids. For more information on the event, or to reserve tickets, visit online at kaxe.org
