Ideal Community Service Organization Grant for the Ideal Green Market Cooperative
Web posted February 12, 2019
At the January 10th Ideal Community Service Organization (ICSO) monthly meeting, ICSO heard a request for a grant from Bonnie Coffey, board president of the Ideal Green Market Cooperative. The request for funds was made to help the IGMC with its 2019 community activities. A $2500 grant was given to the IGMC so that funding would be provided to continue its mission in the community providing access to local and sustainable foods and to also provide education and community activities.
Activities planned for 2019 include an indoor farmer’s market scheduled for April 27 from 10-2 at the Ideal Town Hall. Farmers, food and household goods entrepreneurs, artists, and gardeners are once again invited to be vendors at this event.
Other events planned for 2019 are a Pancake Breakfast, likely held the weekend of Memorial Day, outdoor farmer’s markets on Saturdays beginning Memorial Weekend to October, weather permitting. Educational classes held by co-op members are also being planned for members and nonmembers.
The grant from ICSO will help with the expenses incurred with these activities. “On behalf of the board and member owners of the IGMC, we are grateful to be able to have the Ideal Community Service Organization assist us with our community activities”, stated Coffey.
