The Manhattan Beach City Council met in regular session Tuesday, December 7, 2021. The following officers were present: Mayor Paul Allen; Council members Rob Amundson, Barb Hanson-Wannebo; and Clerk Treasurer, Marlene Yurek. Councilmember, Jean Amundson was absent.
Council approved the agenda with the addition new business funding from Sourcewell. Council approved the November 2021 minutes as presented, and the claims as printed including Crow Wing Power.
Planning and Zoning
Mayor Allen received notification from Manhattan Beach Lodge attorney to the City attorney the septic tanks have been capped with the pumps removed and the drain field is totally eliminated at Manhattan Beach Lodge. The drainfield has to be repaired before anything can be reconnected. They are strictly using holding tanks.
Council approved the 2022 Budget: City Revenue $40,000; $25,000 Building Fund and $5,000 for the Road Fund.
Sourcewell Funding: Mayor Allen and Clerk-Treasurer Yurek met with 2 representatives from Sourcewell. They explained some of the changes taking place. Justin Burslie will remain as Planning & Zoning coordinator. The two also learned that Sourcewell has a funding program available for small cities.
The City will be receiving an application for funding for $10,000, which will assist with the projects the City has going forward for 2022.
