Peacetime State of Emergency in Minnesota: In response to propane shortage

Governor Mark Dayton has declared a Peacetime State of Emergency in Minnesota. This is in response to a severe shortage of propane and other home heating fuel supplies statewide.
Residents of Crow Wing County can call the Lutheran Social Services office in Brainerd to see if they qualify for energy assistance if needed. Phone number: 218 829-5000 or 1-800-829-5902.
The State Emergency Operations Center has also opened public hotline to answer questions for Minnesotans with propane issues or questions. Hotline number is 1-800-657-3504.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, Division of Emergency Management and Crow Wing County Community Services is encouraging residents that use propane:
• Conserve Energy as much as possible.
• Check in on your family, friends and neighbors.
• Be vigilant and check your propane tank.
