Parent Aware Scholarships Available for Families to Use for Early Learning Programs
Web posted January 14, 2014
Parent Aware is a quality rating system for early learning and child care services. The Parent Aware Rating System has certified the Pequot Lakes ISD #186 School Readiness, Learning Is Fun and Extended Day Stay and Play programs as meeting their Four Star Rating. The Four Star Rating is the top level of certification for a program.
As a result of the Parent Aware Rating, eligible families that enroll a preschool aged child in one of these programs are eligible to apply for scholarship funding to pay for the early learning services. To qualify for the scholarship eligibility is based on family income and the preschool child being enrolled in an early learning or child care program. Families that qualify for free or reduced price school meals are eligible for this scholarship.
Contact Sarah Tabaka, Early Childhood Program Coordinator, for the Pequot Lakes school based early learning programs. Sarah has the application form and will assist a family with the work needed to complete the form and send it to the regional review service. Call Sarah at 218 – 562 -7520 for more information. Families may stop in at the Early Childhood Family Education office on the east end of Eagle View school to meet with Sarah, too.
Minnesota has committed to providing high quality early learning options for families throughout the state. This is a new source of funding to support the top quality rating for the learning program. Check it out. We hope to serve your family and your preschool aged child in getting ready for Kindergarten, now.
