Eagles Crush Laporte, Lose to Deer River

The Northland Eagles went 1-1 last week, routing Laporte 61-16 on Monday, and losing to Deer River on Friday by a score of 51-41. Northland’s record now stands at 8-6 overall.

The Eagles held Laporte to just 4 points in the second half and had three players in double figures.

Dakota Kendall led the team with 14 points and had seven steals, while Chris Scheidt had 12 points and Ryan Horner scored 11 to go along with six boards, four steals and four assists.

Against the Warriors on Friday, Horner led the team with 18 points and had four steals.

Coach Duane Giffen said, “We had our chances again, but we turned the ball over way too many times. We played a lot better than the first time we played them, but this was a tough conference loss.”

Scheidt had 10 points and six rebounds and Aaron Kemper add six points and grabbed a team high nine boards.
