| Stars Pull Away, Beat Northern Lakes 6-2Web posted February 21, 2012 Cody Stewart and Cody Bartkowicz each netted a pair of goals as the Prairie Centre Stars broke an early 2-2 tie and pulled away with a 6-2 win the the Northenr Lakes Lightning on Tuesday night in Breezy Point. Back to back goals by Northern Lakes’ Kegan Coture and Peter Galligan gave the the team a brief 2-1 lead in the opening period but Bartkowicz knotted the score at 2-all four minutes later. Joe Herda started in goal and was relieved by Joey Bergquist after the first period. He stopped 17 of 19 shots. Bergquist faced 28 shots and stopped 25. He was saddled with the loss. The Lightning put 36 shots on Prairie Center’s Justin Brever. The regular season ending loss evened the teams overall record at 11-11-2 and sent the Lightning into the play-in game Saturday evening at River Lakes (13-12) in the opening round of the sectional playoffs.
