| Lightning Streak Hits FourThe Northern Lakes Lightning defeated all three opponents this past week and has now won five of their last six games. The Lightning beat crushed Walker-Hackensack-Akeley by a score of 15-1 Monday night in Breezy Point, and then put together consecutive road wins over Bagley-Fosston and Greenway on Thursday and Saturday. The season record now stands at 13-8 overall and 4-3 in the Mid-State Conference. Collin Burke notched a hat trick and joined three other players with four points each in the rout over the W-H-A Wolves on Monday night. Sam Johnson scored twice with two assists and Cody Chambers and Jace Goodmanson each had a goal and three assists for Northern Lakes, who launched 44 shots on W-H-A net-minder Evan Wilson. In all, 15 Lightning players had at least a point in the most lopsided win of the season. Conner Chamber joined Johnson with two goals, adding an assist and Kyler Decent had two assists and a goal. Others scoring for Northern lakes were Denver Monn, Brady Roy, Ray Nelson, Jordan Severance and Alex Christofferson. The Lightning continued their offensive surge against Bagley-Fosston with a 7-0 shutout win. Alec Fitch scored twice and added an assist and Tyler Carraway stopped all 23 shots for his first shutout and seventh win of the season. Sam Johnson and Cody Chambers each scored and had an assist. Others scoring goals were Jace Goodmanson, Chris Smieja and Tyler Heinlen. Collin Burke’s goal at 12:24 of the third period broke a 2-2 tie as the Lightning held on to beat gave Greenway on Saturday. Greenway had rallied from a 2-0 third period deficit to tie the game before Burke netted the game-winner. Goals by Jake Box and Connor Chambers gave Northern Lakes a 2-0 lead that held until Adam Mendoza tied the game with two power play goals early in the third period. Joey Bergquist stopped 30 shots for the Lightning to earn his sixth win of the season.
