Crooked Lake and Emily Volunteer Fire Departments Respond Quickly to House Fire

The Crooked Lake Volunteer Fire Department was called to Andreson Drive on Monday, June 16 and extinguished the burning home belonging to Bob and Sherry Gage. The call came at 11:30 pm.

No one was home during the fire and it was contained to approximately half the home.

It appeared the fire started in the entry where the washer/dryer is located. The fire burned through the ceiling, opening a hole to the second story. The Emily VFD was called for mutual aid and responded with 8 firemen and their large pumper truck.

“It all went well, there were no glitches,” said Crooked Lake VFD assistant chief Chris Smith, who added that Crooked Lake had eleven firefighters respond to the call. No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation but Sherry Gage believes the fire started from an electric dryer.
