27th Annual Outing Ice Fishing Contest

Conditions were cold and windy for the 27th annual Outing Ice Fishing Contest, sponsored by the Outing Area Chamber of Commerce and Crooked Lake Volunteer Firefighters, held Saturday, January 25th.

A total of 53 entries enjoyed time with friends and family on the ice of Lawrence Lake.

The winner of the contest was Cody Cohos with a 3.15 pound northern pike. In second place was Dennis O’Donnell with a .225 pound sunfish. Third place went to Scott Lemire with a .06 pound perch and in fourth was Debbie Nelson with a .03 pound perch. (top picture left to right)

Cohos took home $225 in prize money for the largest fish and first fish caught.

O’Donnell won $150, while Nelson totaled $75 for fourth place and smallest fish caught. Lemire won $125 for his third place finish and also for the last fish caught.

Every entrant received a door prize from local businesses. The date for next years contest will be announced next month.
