Outing Library Receives Libri Foundation Grant

The Libri Foundation of Eugene, Oregon recently sent the Outing Library a total of $1054.00 in new Children's and Young Adult's books which was made possible by the Friends of the Outing Library donation of $350. The foundation matches their contribution on a two to one ratio. The books are now on display and available for check out.

Library board member, Judy Matherne, is coordinating a second weekday story time for Wednesday mornings at 10:00 starting on May 24th. Library coordinator Carol Pierce said, “I'm sure some of the new books from the Libri Foundation will be incorporated into these sessions because most of them are Newberry and Caldecott Medal winners.” The Summer Saturday Story time will also continue from Memorial Day until Labor Day at 10 am.

Several people last summer consigned lake toys to either Land-O'-Lakes Marine or Heartland Powersports with the understanding that when they sold, the sale price minus the consignment fee would be donated to the library. If you have boat trailers, swim rafts, trampolines, paddle boats, canoes, small fishing boats, or the like, the Outing library board asks that you consider consigning them and giving the profit to the library.

They also received a large donation of books from the Crosby Care Center and in return are loaning them a few boxes of our duplicate titles on a rotating basis for their residents to enjoy.

We also received over 100 books all on quiltmaking, crocheting, knitting, rug hooking, etc., so if that's your cup of tea, be sure to ask us where they are.

Resident Pat Oleson recently joined the board and has graciously taken on the job of scheduling the volunteers' times at the library, so if you are interested in helping out, even for one time during the summer, call her at 218 792-5011.

Outing Library hours are Mondays from 10 am - 2 pm, Wednesdays from 4-6 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am -1 pm.
