Patriot Baseball

Patriots Rout Tigers 9-2
Ben Kepner drove in two runs and pitched four innings to lead the Pequot Lakes Patriots to a 9-2 win last Friday afternoon over the visiting Pine River-Backus Tigers. The victory gives the Patriots a 6-5 record overall.

Kepner notched four strikeouts and hit a double. Chase Mason and Levi Christensen also hit two baggers for Pequot. Each team committed four errors.

Patriots, Panthers Split

After winning Game One 9-7, the Park Rapids Panthers avoided a sweep by beating the visiting Patriots 12-2 last Thursday evening.

Ben Kepner, Jake Serfling, and Ben Tweed each had three hits for Pequot Lakes in the first game. Brandon Hilts and Ryan Pahl each had two hits. Serfling and Kepner each homered.

The Patriots amassed 15 hits in support of pitcher Levi Christenson, who earned the win by tossing a complete game.

In the second game, the Patriots managed only four hits as the Panthers avenged their game one loss with a 12-2 win. Hilts took the loss for Pequot.
