Patriot Boys Fall to DL, Rout Aitkin

Lakers 76, Patriots 62
Pequot Lakes fell to 0-2 in Mid- State Conference play as they lost 76-62 to host Detroit Lakes on Tuesday night.

For the Patriots, Jordan Anderson scored a team-high 17 points, while Kurtis Moody had 14 and Michael Goerges added 13.

Josh Stalberger of the Lakers led all scorers with 21 points and Joe Mollberg had 16. The Lakers went to the line 35 times hitting 25 foul shots, compared to 19 trips to the stripe for the Patriots, who hit 13.

Patriots 78, Gobblers 40

Michael Goerges and Thomas Parker each scored 12 points to lead the Patriots to a 78-40 rout over Aitkin on Friday night in Pequot Lakes.

Goerges also dished out four assists, had four steals and grabbed five boards, and Parker finished with six rebounds for the 2-3 Patriots.

The win stopped a two game skid as twelve players scored in the team’s home opener after playing the first five games on the road.

Matt Michaelson scored 11 points while Kurtis Moody and Michael Ward scored 10 points apiece. Ward led the team in rebounds with eight.

Nick Sundholm led the Gobblers with 15 points.

Pequot Lakes travels to Walker tonight to face the Wolves before playing in the Pine Country Bank Holiday Tournament on Dec. 29-30. Participating teams include Robbinsdale Cooper, Badger/Greenbush/Middle River and Little Falls. The Patriots open with B/G/MR at 6:00 pm, Dec. 29.
