Patriot Boys First, Girls Second at Pequot Lakes Crosslake Invitational

The Pequot Lakes Cross Country teams fared well in the annual Pequot Lakes Invitational held Thursday, September 10 at Crosswoods Golf Course in Crosslake.

The top three boys’ finishers were Patriots. Silas Lydeen took first place overall with a time of 18:10. Adison Runberg was second with a time of 18:55, and Jake Braam finished third at 19:10. Jacob Headlee was ninth with a time of 20:06 for Pequot Lakes.

Girls’ team winner Crosby- Ironton took three of the top five spots. Rangers Lisa Borden finished first overall with a time of 15:53 and Shelby Vukelich was tied for second with Shauna Maurer of Pillager - each had a time of 16:23.

Marie Abear of C-I finished fourth ahead of Pequot Lakes’ Kylie Beltz who was fifth with a time of 16:57. Jordan Roy was seventh with a time of 17:07 for the Patriots.

Pequot Lakes finished second in the team results and Pine-River Backus was third.

Boys’ results: Pequot Lakes 26, C-I 39, Pine River 77, Northland- Deer River 133. Pillager, INC, McGregor INC. Girls’ results: C-I 26, Pequot Lakes 53, Pine River-Backus 109.
