Patriots Girls Handed First Defeat

Green Wave 70, Patriots 60

The Patriots dropped their first game of the season to East Grand Forks by a score of 70-60 despite a 28 point effort by junior guard Emily Lueck.

Lueck grabbed a team high eight rebounds to go along with five assists and five steals.

Kayla Wangen added ten for Pequot Lakes and Kylie Beltz was held to her lowest scoring total of the season at five points. Beltz and sophomore Mattie Lueck combined to shoot 4 for 18 from the field.

The Patriots trailed by just four points at the half.

Kate Warmack scored 22 points for the Green Wave and Chelsey Frydenlund added 17.

Patriots 75, Flyers 54
Kylie Beltz and Emily Lueck combined for 44 points as the Patriots rolled over the visiting Little Falls Flyers on Tuesday night in Pequot Lakes.

Lueck led the Patriots with 24 points and Beltz scored 20, each finished with five steals.

Mattie Lueck nearly missed a double double, scoring nine points to go with 12 boards, six steals and five assists as Pequot improved to 5-1.

The Flyers were led by Whitney Weisz had 24 points and Paige Beseman scored 19 for Little Falls.

Pequot Lakes 65, Detroit Lakes 54
Emily Lueck's 16 points led the visiting Pequot Lakes Patriots to a 65-54 Mid-State Conference victory over Detroit Lakes Friday night.

The Patriots had three other players reach double figures; Mattie Lueck and Kayla Wangen scored 13 points apiece, and Kylie Beltz added 12.

The Patriots jumped to a 38-21 lead at halftime but struggled from the line, hitting only nine of 19 from the stripe.

Kaylie Muckenhim led the Lakers with 16 points, while Jenny Matter and Courtney Gray each had 15.

Pequot improved their record to 6-1 overall and are undefeated at 3-0 in the conference.
