Miron, Wolverines Top Patriot Girls

Emily Miron led all scorers with 24 points to lead the Wadena Deer Creek Wolverines to a 61-54 win over Pequot Lakes Patriots in Mid State Conference girls basketball action on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Mattie Lueck and Kayla Miller each had a team high 14 points in the loss, the first in four games for Pequot Lakes. Vanessa Lane added 10 points for the Patriots.

The Patriots fell to 2-3 in the conference and 7-8 overall. Home games this include a tilt with Pine River-Backus Monday night and Detroit Lakes on Friday.

Wadena-Deer Creek: Theisen 10, Schissel 2, Volkmann 2, Miron 24, Dumpprope 4, Jackson 17, Moenkedick 2.

Pequot Lakes: Bzdok 2, Lueck 14, Lane 10, Kreitz 2, Mott 4, White 2, Hogen 6, Miller 14.
