Patriot Girls Down Blue Devils for Third Win

The Pequot Lakes Patriots girls hockey team earned their third win of the season with a 3-1 triumph over the visiting Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Wadena- Deer Creek on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at Breezy Point Arena.

Leading the way for the Patriots was Haley Monson who scored twice. Monson gave the Patriots a 1-0 lead just 35 second into the game and scored the game’s final goal with just under five minutes left in the second.

Brooke Serfling earned her second victory of the season by stopping 27 of 28 shots and Emily Erickson added a pair of assists for Pequot Lakes, whose record now stands at 3-8.

Kim Jessen scored the go-ahead goal from Erickson at 14:41 of the second period.

Kaylyn Eggena and Mandy Carlson each added an assist for the Patriots.

The Patriots played in the Rocori tournament on Dec. 28-29 and will travel to Moose Lake to play Jan. 5. Their next home game will be against the Morris/Benson Area Storm at Breezy Point Arena on Jan. 7.
