Pequot Lakes Softball

Patriot Girls Swept by Perham
The Pequot Lakes Patriots girls varsity softball team were swept by the Perham Yellowjackets on Saturday, May 3 by scores of 16-6 and 12-5.

In the 16-6 loss Katie Peterson hit a 2-run homer and Brooke Serfling went 2 for 3. Dijon Bouchard, Karli Wiewel and Ashely Zimmerman each had a hit. Kayla Wangen took the loss and struck out four.

Karli Wiewel and Chelsey Thorson each went 2 for 3 in the Patriots 12-5 loss. Wiewel tripled, had an RBI and scored a run. Thorson drove in a run and scored once. Margaret Anderson, Katie Peterson, Kayla Wangen, and Brooke Serfling each had a hit.

Patriots’ pitchers surrendered nine walks and the defense committed five errors that contributed to the defeat.

Patriots Rally Falls Short Against Blackduck
The Patriots scored seven times in the seventh inning to knot the game at 10-10 but gave up a one out single, a walk and two wild pitches that led the winning run for the Drakes.

The Patriots notched three hits of their four hits in the seventh. Angela Pitan, Dijon Bouchard, Karli Wiewel and Chelsey Thorson had the Patriot hits. Kayla Wangen pitched six and a third innings and struck out two.
